You can spend years meditating or in talk therapy and still not achieve what you will experience in your first session of hypnotherapy: a return to the mental flexibility of childhood, before your mind was divided against itself.

From this presentation, you will learn why the mind is divided, and why that division slows change. We will discuss how and why hypnosis arises in daily life. Then we will turn to the goals and practices of hypnotherapy as defined by Dr. John Kappas, founder of the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, America’s oldest accredited college of hypnotherapy. A guided imagery journey will illustrate the benefits of those methods.

Trauma and Hypnosis

If you think that you have been lucky enough to avoid trauma, you are probably wrong. This presentation will look at the sources of trauma in our lives. You will then learn what attitudes are helpful in weathering trauma, and how our parents and other authorities influence the development of those virtues.
Our minds and bodies are designed to conserve resources for crises, and natural hypnosis is involved in their release. In hypnosis, the deepest layers of our personality are exposed, making the effects of trauma difficult to treat once the hypnosis ends. You will learn how hypnotherapy can aid in restoring the personal balance lost to trauma.
